OnlyFans DRM Download: What Works, What Doesn't, and Why

If your OnlyFans downloader stopped working on certain videos — or works fine on photos but silently fails on specific clips — you've likely run into DRM. This guide explains exactly what's happening, which content is affected, and what you can actually save.

What Is DRM on OnlyFans?

DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. It's an encryption layer that streaming platforms add to media files to prevent unauthorized copying. OnlyFans uses Widevine — the same system Netflix and Spotify rely on — on a subset of video content.

When a video is Widevine-encrypted, the browser decrypts it inside a hardware-protected memory area. No software running outside that area — including browser extensions, screen recorders, and download tools — can read the raw video data. This is intentional and enforced at the OS level on most modern devices.

What this means practically: no downloader, paid or free, can extract a Widevine-protected video. If a tool claims otherwise, it's either ineffective or doing something that risks flagging your account.

Which OnlyFans Content Has DRM?

DRM is not applied uniformly. In practice, only a small fraction of content is protected:

Typically DRM-protected:

  • Certain pay-per-view (PPV) video messages sent directly by creators
  • Some live stream recordings, particularly from larger accounts
  • A subset of premium video posts on high-tier creator pages

Typically NOT DRM-protected — and fully downloadable:

  • Standard post videos and all post photos
  • Message media (photos and most video messages)
  • Purchased content photos
  • Audio messages
  • Most videos from smaller or mid-size creator accounts

The vast majority of content on OnlyFans — including most videos — has no DRM. If your tool fails on everything, the problem is the tool. If it fails only on specific files while handling others fine, those specific files are the DRM-protected ones.

Why Does My Downloader Work on Some Videos but Not Others?

OnlyFans applies Widevine selectively — typically to newer PPV content and larger creator accounts. Older posts and smaller creators often have no DRM at all.

So you might successfully download 300 photos and 80 videos from a creator, then hit a wall on 4 specific PPV clips. Those 4 clips are DRM-protected. Everything else downloaded normally because it wasn't.

OnlyFans can also retroactively apply DRM to previously unprotected content during platform updates. A video that downloaded fine last month may fail today — same file, different delivery method.

What MassLoader Can Download

MassLoader is built for everything OnlyFans serves without DRM encryption — which covers the vast majority of a creator's library:

  • All post photos, no resolution cap
  • Post videos delivered via standard HLS streaming (most of them)
  • Messages media — photos and non-DRM video messages
  • Purchased content photos and eligible videos
  • All three content sources — Posts, Messages, Purchased — in a single pass

When MassLoader encounters a DRM-protected file, it skips it and logs it, then continues the rest of the queue. Your non-DRM content still downloads cleanly.

How to Download Everything Available

Step 1: Install MassLoader

Go to the download page and install the .zip extension via Chrome Developer Mode. The full walkthrough is on that page — takes about 2 minutes.

Step 2: Navigate to the Creator's Profile

Open OnlyFans and go to the creator's page. Scroll through their post feed to let the browser load the media index before starting. MassLoader reads from what the browser has already fetched.

Step 3: Select Content Sources

Click the MassLoader icon in your toolbar. In the popup, select Posts, Messages, and Purchased to sweep all available content in one session.

Step 4: Start the Download

Click "Download All." MassLoader queues every eligible file and downloads sequentially. The progress panel shows counts per category and flags any skipped files (DRM or access-restricted).

For creators with large libraries, a Pro plan unlocks Pause & Resume — so you can split the download across sessions without losing progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any way to download Widevine DRM videos from OnlyFans?

No practical method exists. Widevine Level 1 uses hardware-level encryption on modern devices. Any tool claiming to bypass it either doesn't work or requires modifying your browser in ways that violate platform terms and could compromise your account.

What percentage of OnlyFans content is DRM-protected?

Based on typical library scans, fewer than 10–15% of files on most creator profiles are DRM-protected. Photos are never DRM-encrypted. The majority of a creator's video library is also unprotected, particularly on accounts that have been active for more than a year.

Does MassLoader fail silently on DRM content?

No. When MassLoader encounters a protected file it cannot access, it marks it as skipped in the download log and continues with the rest of the queue. You'll see a count of skipped files at the end.

Will I get flagged for downloading non-DRM content?

MassLoader downloads through your authenticated browser session — the same session your browser uses to stream content normally. It doesn't use exploits or undocumented API calls. You should only download content you have legitimate access to via an active subscription.

My download used to work on a video that now fails. What happened?

OnlyFans sometimes retroactively applies DRM to previously unprotected content during platform updates. The video file hasn't changed; the delivery method has. This is a platform decision outside any downloader's control.

DRM is frustrating because it's invisible — your tool just silently fails on a handful of files with no explanation. Knowing which content is protected, and which isn't, lets you set accurate expectations and save everything that's actually available.
